Brother Trucker has toured the Midwest extensively since 2000, playing festivals, bars, political rallies, coffee houses, private parties large and small and a myriad of benefits and causes. They have opened for such notable names as James McMurtry, Leon Russell, Al Green, Gurf Morlix, Greg Brown, Robert Earl Keene and the Rev. Horton Heat. In 2009, Brother Trucker scored the original music for the award winning independent film, by Rod McCall “Becoming Eduardo”.

From the bowels of the pop universe a band of true misfits rise from the ash of the rock and roll tradition. Guided by the ghosts of Lennon & McCartney, Chilton & Bell and the Davies Brothers, this group has taken it upon themselves to stand as the torchbearers of the teenage wasteland, the point men of power pop, the pied piper's of the entire guitar rock and roll institution!! here are TWINS

Dan Tedesco is the quintessential modern-day troubadour, narrating the American experience in song honestly and intimately, and with a big sound to boot. A solo artist, Tedesco’s stage show is framed by a minimalist production that finds him belting out folk-spiced rockers from behind both acoustic and electric guitars while foot-stomping percussion rounds out many of the arrangements—this is one solo artist who won’t seem out of place on a bill with rock bands. Interludes at the piano lighten the mood a little, but only a little, as the distorted Rhodes and Wurly sounds only contribute to Dan’s stage presence. Overall, you can expect the twang of John Prine, the attitude of Ike Reilly, the picking of Steve Goodman, and shades of Paul Simon. Similarities aside, however, Dan Tedesco is at one extremely talented and intensely original.

The Ankeny Jaycees is a 100% volunteer nonprofit community organization committed to building strong community leaders and members.

The series is designed to:

  • Bring original music, art, and culture to the community that is otherwise not present in Ankeny.
  • Provide a venue in Ankeny for local artists and musicians to showcase their talent.
  • Help build a stronger sense of local pride in the Ankeny community.
  • Give free exposure through a popular venue to other local non-profit organizations to further their respective causes.
  • Offer a safe, low-cost, and enjoyable experience for community members and families with or without children.
  • Raise funds for various local community projects and charities through food and beverage sales, space rental, gate entry fees, and donations.
  • Be ridiculously awesome.
